Home Owner repair and improvement manual
One of my clients, who had just taken possession of his first-ever home, recently called me as he had a few questions about the home. As we walked thru the house, I found that he had many basic questions.
It also started to occur to me that many first-time home owners might have similar questions, ranging from leaking basements to leaky roofs and everything in between. As a novice home owner, you have three options: Let things go to seed (never a good idea), hire a professional to fix things (expensive) or learn to do-it-yourself.
I realize that you can google, or check youtube for just about anything these days, but I’m ‘old-school’, and still like to have a written manual in front of me. So I found this book at Amazon.com that might be a helpful addition to the First-Time Home-Owners toolkit.
“Black & Decker The Book of Home How-To is designed to reflect the way we search for information today. You won’t find chapters or long, boring introductions or even a table of contents. This book is an A-to-Z encyclopedia with precise how-to instructions and clear photos packed onto every page. With an expanded index that is incredibly intuitive and a simple, alphabetical strategy for organizing the information, you won’t spend precious time wading through stuff you don’t need to know. Finding first-rate information on home care has never been easier, and all the most common tasks around your home are covered–including electrical, plumbing, flooring, walls, windows and doors, cabinetry, insulating, heating and cooling, roofing and siding, and just about any repair or remodeling project you can imagine.”
If you’re a new, or first time home owner, consider checking out this link to the Amazon book.
And if you buy it, let me know what you think about it.
